Daniel Milam is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, and has extensive experience in medical education and rehabilitation.

Dr. Milam received his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida, with a B.S. in Biology. He graduated with honors and went on to attend medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, which is the founding Osteopathic Medical School. He was named Chief Intern during his time at Michigan State University, and served as Chief Resident in his final year at Michigan State University during his Orthopedic Surgery Residency.

During his Fellowship at Michigan Knee and Shoulder Institute, Dr. Milam took care of several college and professional athletes for knee and shoulder injuries. His fellowship training was in Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Knee and Shoulder Surgery, which means he has additional training and specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures.

Before joining ARO, Dr. Milam was in private practice since 2007, and also served as a team physician for the University of Virginia-Wise college, as well as for several athletes at Emory & Henry University. If that wasn’t enough, he also served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery for the Medical School at Virginia Tech (Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine), where he taught and trained medical students in Orthopedic Surgery from 2010 – 2013.

Since moving back to Florida in 2014, Dr. Milam has been a team doctor for Lennard High School in Ruskin, Fl, and have given several presentations on a wide variety of orthopedic conditions and injuries. He scored in the top 10% in the country on his written and oral board exams for orthopedic surgery board certification, and has since developed a special interest and practice focus on “Joint Preservation” and “Sports Medicine for the Aging Athlete. He holds active physician licenses in Florida, Colorado, Virginia and Ohio, and is a welcomed member of the ARO team.
